mRPC: run-time complex data oriented zero-serialization method and remote procedure call

Abstract

RPC is one of the core components of cloud computing platforms, and the complexity and efficiency of data transmission are determined by serialization approach. There are few implementations of data transmission serialization in C++, and there is a lack of methods that fully support standard template library(STL) containers and pointer nesting. This paper pre-sented a high-performance RPC method designed for complex data objects, utilizing zero-serialization protocols based on memory mapping technology and fine-grained memory mapping management techniques. This approach extended the transferable data types based on C++ data structures while improving both transmission efficiency and development efficiency. In empirical validation, compared to popular RPC methods, this approach achieved performance improvements of 27.20% and 76.79% on the client and server sides, respectively, while reducing programming time by 43.13%. This method is concise and efficient, effectively addressing the shortcomings of C++ in data transmission serialization. It is particularly suitable for scenarios transitioning from traditional architectures to new distributed architectures and provides a new solution for data transmission in fields such as cloud computing and microservices.
