Abstract

In the existing research on mobile edge computing (MEC) networks, a considerable portion of existing studies has mainly focused on optimizing either delay or energy consumption separately. However, in practical computing offloading scenarios, conflicting objectives directly impact and constrain user experience, making it challenging to optimize a single objective to meet complex application requirements. Moreover, some attempts to combine multiple optimization objectives into one through weighted sums often lead to the loss of target requirement information. To overcome these issues, the authors propose the WNDQN method. By introducing a weight network, the decision center can select the most relevant weight value based on environmental information and execute agent - recommended actions. Additionally, integrating experience replay and action exploration mechanisms based on loss value prevents convergence to local optima, accelerates convergence, and improves stability. Experimental results confirm that our method accelerates neural network convergence, balances delay and energy consumption, reduces weighted costs for edge clients, and enhances user experience under limited battery power.
