Abstract

To address the rapid response requirements of virtual power plant economic dispatch and the prevalent neglect of correlation between leader node selection and convergence efficiency in existing research, this study proposed a two-stage improved consensus-based distributed economic dispatch strategy for accelerating algorithm convergence. An improved K-shell method and a two-layer neighbor optimization term were introduced to establish the K* leader node selection method and a two-layer neighbor-optimized consensus variable update formula. Simulations and analyses were conducted under two communication topologies. Results demonstrate that the proposed strategy improves convergence efficiency by approximately 54% compared with benchmark algorithms under both topologies. It exhibits superior node failure robustness, load mutation convergence, plug-and-play capability, better economic performance, and distributed advantages. The selected convergence coefficient ε proves reasonable, while tolerance μ requires dynamic adjustment based on dispatch accuracy requirements. The two-stage improved strategy effectively enhances convergence efficiency while maintaining plug-and-play capability, economic benefits, distributed characteristics, and robustness, making it suitable for virtual power plant economic dispatch scenarios.
