Measurement-based quantum network coding on 2d cluster states

Abstract

To leverage measurement-based quantum computation and quantum network coding for distributing entangled particles and transmitting quantum information between remote nodes in the butterfly network, this paper proposed a measurement-based quantum network coding scheme on two-dimensional cluster states. The proposed scheme first designs a measurement-based quantum relay protocol. Then, by constructing a graph state model that matches the butterfly network topology and designing corresponding measurement strategies, it enables parallel quantum operations between remote nodes. In addition, building upon existing work, it provides an in-depth theoretical derivation of the measurement process and quantum state evolution, thereby demonstrating the feasibility and correctness of the proposed scheme from a theoretical perspective. This scheme not only effectively overcomes the impact of photon loss in long-distance entanglement distribution but also significantly enhances the efficiency and flexibility of quantum communication, enabling efficient and reliable quantum communication in the butterfly network. Security analysis and performance comparisons show that the proposed scheme can effectively resist typical attack models such as quantum eavesdropping, and it achieves significant improvements in both resource consumption and operational complexity, demonstrating superior overall performance.
