Abstract

This paper proposed a multi-agent-based dual-delay deep deterministic policy gradient algorithm for vehicular computing offloading to achieve low latency and low energy consumption in scenarios with unpredictable task distributions and time-varying environmental states. It considered vehicle positions, connection times, communication resources, and available computing resources to establish a vehicular computing offloading model, and further formulates an optimization model to minimize the average execution cost of computing tasks. It formalized the problem as a multi-agent Markov decision process. It then proposed a multi-agent dual-delay deep deterministic policy gradient algorithm to solve the problem and achieve efficient task offloading optimization. Experimental results demonstrated that the proposed scheme exhibits greater robustness under time-varying network conditions. Moreover, it achieved an approximately 18% reduction in the weighted sum of latency and energy consumption compared to baseline algorithms. Comparative experiments and analyses demonstrate that the proposed scheme enables efficient computing offloading in complex dynamic networks while effectively balancing latency and energy consumption.
