Hypergraph-driven multi-source knowledge fusion for emotional dialogue generation

Abstract

emotional dialogue generation is a key step in enhancing interactive experience. existing methods show limitations in multi-source knowledge modeling and emotion–strategy guidance, which restrict the capture of high-order dependencies among semantics, emotions, and strategies. to solve this problem, the study proposed a hypergraph-driven multi-source knowledge Fusion model (mifs-hgcn). the model used a relational temporal hypergraph to integrate historical dialogue, emotional states, strategy responses, and dialogue context for dynamic scene modeling and feature aggregation. it then applied a gated-attention mechanism to fuse multi-source knowledge under dual constraints of emotion and strategy, generating empathetic responses with emotional consistency and rational strategy support. experiments on the esconv dataset showed that the model reduced perplexity to 14.25 and achieved significant improvements in bleu-1/2, distinct-1/2, and rouge-l scores compared with kemi and dq-hgan. these results demonstrate that the model improves the accuracy, coherence, and diversity of emotional dialogue generation.
