Abstract

Aiming at the problems of high data storage pressure and low query efficiency in the blockchain-based food supply chain traceability system, this paper proposed a traceability query scheme that integrates a dual-chain storage structure with an HMB+ tree indexing mechanism. First, this solution builds a dual-chain architecture that combines a consortium chain and private chains, separating product lifecycle data and reducing the storage burden on the main chain. At the same time, by introducing a notary group with the regulatory agency as the core, use batch signature and asynchronous verification mechanisms to improve the processing concurrency and collaborative efficiency of cross-chain transactions. Secondly, this solution proposes a hybrid indexing structure, HMB+ tree, which integrates hash tables with Merkle B+ trees. It embeds maximum and minimum keys in block headers to narrow the query range, employs hash tables for fast multi-field index mapping, and leverages Merkle B+ trees to support efficient range and multi-condition queries, thereby improving data localization. Finally, in the private chain, a hot-cold skip list reconstruction mechanism based on exponential smoothing dynamically partitions hot and cold blocks and adaptively adjusts index levels. This mechanism optimizes high-frequency query paths and enhances overall retrieval efficiency. Experimental results show that this solution improves query efficiency by 49.5% compared with existing methods and effectively alleviates on-chain storage pressure, providing strong technical support for the in-depth application of blockchain in the field of food safety and traceability query.
