CCSAT: circuit-based SAT solver using conflict-driven clause learning

Abstract

Boolean satisfiability problem (SAT) solvers are widely used in electronic design automation (EDA) . Current mainstream SAT solvers require input instances in conjunctive normal form (CNF) . However, encoding a circuit’s and-inverter graph (AIG) into CNF disrupts the structural information of the original circuit, thereby impairing the efficiency of solving circuit equivalence verification problems. To address this issue, designs and implements a circuit SAT solver that directly parses circuit structure files. Built on the conflict-driven clause learning (CDCL) framework, the proposed solver incorporates circuit structural characteristics and integrates a learned clause deletion strategy, a restart mechanism, and a branching strategy based on circuit node activity. Experimental results on equivalence verification using ISCAS'85/89 benchmark circuits demonstrate that each optimization module significantly enhances performance. In particular, the branching strategy achieves over 100× speedup on multiple circuits, validating the feasibility of performing equivalence verification directly on circuit structures.
