Controllable 3d virtual try-on with disentangled representation and conditional diffusion fields

Abstract

To address non-physical deformations, lack of fine-grained attribute control, and heavy dependency on 3D ground truth data in current virtual try-on methods, this paper proposes a controllable 3D virtual try-on framework named C3D-VTON. The framework used an inverse geometric mapping network to canonicalize arbitrary garment images into pose-agnostic textures, achieving effective representation disentanglement. A conditional latent diffusion model (LDM) generated 3D neural signed distance fields (SDF) in a continuous implicit space, enabling precise control over multi-dimensional attributes such as garment length and tightness via attribute modulation vectors. A hybrid supervision strategy, incorporating pose-driven differentiable rendering and knowledge distillation, was introduced to enable weak-supervised learning from 2D images, reducing the reliance on 3D scanned data. Experimental results on VITON-HD and DressCode datasets demonstrated that the proposed method outperformed state-of-the-art 2D approaches in image synthesis quality. The 3D geometric accuracy improved by 25.4% compared to GS-VTON.
