Short video false news detection based on multi-dimensional perception strategy

Abstract

This paper proposes a multidimensional perception-based detection model to address the insufficient utilization of multidimensional information in short-video fake news detection and the inadequate exploration of internal visual, emotional, deep semantic, and text–visual conflicts. The model first extracts multidimensional feature data from short videos. A Gated Cross-aware Fusion Module (GCF) captures emotional and deep semantic cues as well as text–visual inconsistencies. A Prompt-Guided Perception Block (PPB) identifies visual anomalies, and an Adaptive Temporal Structure Extractor (ATSE) analyzes logical disruptions and structural inconsistencies indicative of fake content. Finally, a temperature-scaled probability fusion strategy performs cross-modal feature fusion, enabling the model to adaptively focus on more credible modalities and thereby enhance robustness. Experiments on the FakeSV and FakeTT datasets demonstrate that the proposed model achieves significant improvements in accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score compared with existing approaches. Demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
