Abstract

Multimodal sentiment analysis aims to infer human emotions by integrating textual, acoustic, and visual information. However, semantic misalignment and noise redundancy in non-textual modalities often limit the effectiveness of multimodal fusion. To address these issues, this paper proposes a teacher-guided sentiment analysis framework that combines text-query selective alignment with modality-coordinated gating. Unlike conventional methods that treat different modalities with equal importance, the proposed framework regards the textual modality as a reliable query and explicitly filters and aligns acoustic and visual features according to textual semantics. To improve the representation quality of noisy modalities before fusion, the framework further incorporates a teacher-guided distillation mechanism that transfers knowledge from unimodal teacher models to the multimodal framework. In addition, the framework introduces a modality-coordinated gating module that dynamically adjusts the contribution of each modality to the final decision according to semantic confidence. Experimental results on the CMU-MOSI and CMU-MOSEI benchmark datasets demonstrate that the framework achieves superior or competitive performance in both regression and classification tasks compared with mainstream baseline models, and exhibits good robustness in complex sentiment scenarios.
