Speaker verification fusing front-end feature extraction and temporal attention

Abstract

NeXt-TDNN has limitations in capturing local frequency-domain features and focusing on critical temporal information. To address these limitations, this paper proposed FSCM-DPBA, a speaker verification model. FSCM-DPBA integrated front-end feature extraction and temporal attention. First, this paper designed a Front-End Separable Convolution Module (FSCM) to capture local time-frequency features and enhance feature representation capability. Second, it proposed a Dual Pooling Branch Attention (DPBA) . DPBA captured the overall distribution of temporal features and salient response peaks to generate adaptive temporal weights. These weights focused on and strengthened highly discriminative temporal information. Experiments on AISHELL-1 and VoxCeleb1 showed that FSCM-DPBA reduced the equal error rate by 26.03% and 12.29%, respectively, compared with the baseline model. The results indicate that this method improves model performance and demonstrates strong generalization ability. Source code: https: //github. com/wode-count/FSCM-DPBA.
