Semi-submerged aquaculture contour extraction via hierarchical supervision and frequency dynamic selection

Abstract

Addresses the challenge of extracting geometrically accurate contours from remote sensing images of semi-submerged raft aquaculture areas, where spectral ambiguity and blurred boundaries hinder precise delineation. Proposes an end-to-end geometry-aware polygon extraction network termed AquaPolyNet. Introduces explicit geometric constraints through a hierarchical supervision strategy for vertices, edges, and regions. Employs an attraction field map to reformulate boundary learning as a robust vector regression task. Designs a frequency dynamic selection module to adaptively enhance discriminative features in the frequency domain under geometric guidance. Conducts experiments on Haizhou Bay and Sanduao datasets. Results show that the proposed method achieves an F1-score of 0.969 and an IoU of 96.0%, outperforms several baselines and directly generates regular vector polygons. Provides an efficient end-to-end vectorization solution for aquaculture contour extraction under spectrally ambiguous conditions.
