Abstract

The Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (VRPTW) is one of the key problems in vehicle routing optimization (VRP) and is widely applied in logistics and distribution. As logistics demand and complexity increase, traditional algorithms show limitations in efficiency and adaptability when solving VRPTW. In recent years, metaheuristic algorithms made significant progress in addressing this problem, making it necessary to systematically review and further study these algorithms. This review outlined the basic VRPTW model, compared the application of exact, heuristic, and metaheuristic algorithms, and analyzed the research progress, advantages, disadvantages, and improvement strategies of metaheuristic algorithms. Finally, it explored future research directions and trends in algorithm development, providing theoretical support for further studies in this field.
