Fixed-time group consensus of multi-agent based on dynamic event triggering under switching topologies

Abstract

For a class of second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems under directed switching topologies, this paper addresses the leader-follower group consensus problem and designs a fixed-time control method based on dynamic event-triggering under switching group configurations. The proposed control protocol utilizes system state tracking errors to establish a fixed-time dynamic event-triggered mechanism, guaranteeing both primary and secondary group consensus within fixed time intervals. This fixed-time control strategy prevents instability during secondary grouping processes, while the dynamic event-triggered mechanism reduces control update frequency to minimize energy consumption. Stability analysis is conducted through the construction of Lyapunov functions, proving that the system achieves fixed-time group consensus under switching topologies. The exclusion of Zeno behavior is ensured by calculating the lower bound of event-triggering intervals. Finally, simulation experiments validate the effectiveness of the proposed control method.
