Abstract

This paper explored an automated methodology for initial and final annotation in continuous Chinese speech under conditions of limited data resources. The proposed method utilized a limited set of speech samples to construct initial and final templates, subsequently employed template matching technology to identify the boundaries and transcriptions of initial and final components within continuous speech. To enhance both the accuracy and efficiency of template matching, a systematic approach employing phonetic class detection technology was firstly utilized to segment continuous speech into unvoiced, voiced, and vowel regions, aligning with the phonetic characteristics of Initials and Finals. The experiments utilized the speech datasets of Mandarin, Jin dialect, and Wu dialect to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of the proposed method. The experimental results demonstrate that constructing each initial and final template using 20 to 25 samples yields annotated results with precision, recall, and F1 value of 92.68%, 93.05%, and 92.86%, respectively. Notably, even in the presence of introduced noise, these evaluation metrics remain consistently high, achieving values of 91.97%, 92.51%, and 92.43%, respectively. Compared with multiple baseline methods, the proposed approach demonstrates consistent improvements, achieving precision, recall, and F1 value enhancements of at least 4.46, 4.29, and 4.37 percentage points respectively. These statistically significant gains substantiate that the developed method can generate robust annotation outcomes while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
